Behind the Letters
Marovek Letters began as a personal archive — handwritten observations on how active men in Jakarta approach daily nutrition and supplementation. That archive became an editorial practice, and that practice became this publication.
A Record, Not a recommendation
Marovek Letters documents what active men in Jakarta actually do when it comes to daily nutrition and supplementation — not what they are told to do. The distinction matters. Observed behaviour tells a more honest story than recommended practice, and honest stories are the foundation of editorial work worth reading.
The publication was founded by Ryan Santoso, a Jakarta-based writer whose background spans fitness culture journalism and nutritional research commentary. The initial archive covered two years of personal notes on zinc and magnesium intake patterns, vitamin D timing habits, and the weekly rhythms of men who take their daily wellness seriously without it consuming their identity.
What emerged from those notes was a recurring editorial question: where does the published nutritional literature end and where does everyday practice begin? The gap between the two is what Marovek Letters navigates — article by article, observation by observation.
Where the Observations Are Written
The editorial office is a quiet corner of South Jakarta — a room with good light, a long table, and a shelf of nutritional research texts. Most mornings begin the same way: notes from the previous day's reading are reviewed, field observations from Jakarta's active fitness community are cross-referenced, and a new paragraph is begun.
The workspace is intentionally minimal. Marovek Letters believes that editorial clarity follows environmental clarity. A cluttered workspace produces cluttered arguments. This is not a philosophy; it is an observed pattern.
Contributing writers submit remotely. All submissions undergo a second editorial review before any content is published — consistent with the standards described in the Methodology section.
